Angelica Lopez ended her Miss Grand International (MGI) 2026 journey with a Top 25 finish, falling short of extending the Philippines’ historic winning streak to three consecutive titles.
Tanzania’s Jihan Dimack was crowned Miss Grand International 2026, while Ecuador’s Shyare Andrade finished as first runner-up, followed by the Netherlands’ Beau Megan Goos as second runner-up, Guatemala’s Ximena Carrillo as third runner-up, and Vietnam’s Emoura Pham as fourth runner-up.
Six other candidates from Côte d’Ivoire, Cuba, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Thailand, and Venezuela completed the Top 11, earning the distinction of fifth runners-up.
Despite missing the semifinals, Lopez secured the Best in National Costume award alongside representatives from Pakistan, Thailand, and Hong Kong.
The Filipina beauty queen showcased her “Ang Mangkukulam” ensemble, designed by Patrick Isorena, during the national costume competition. The striking creation featured a towering figure behind Lopez as she portrayed a doll pierced with needles, bringing the dark imagery of Filipino folklore to life.
Lopez also competed in the preliminary swimsuit and evening gown rounds, wearing a creation by Ryan Ablaza Uson for the latter.
The 2026 edition marked another attempt by the Philippines to sustain its back-to-back victories, following CJ Opiaza’s historic win in 2024 and Emma Tiglao’s succeeding triumph in 2025.
Lopez represented the country after winning Reina Filipinas Grand International in August, earning her ticket to the international competition.
Her MGI campaign added to an extensive pageant résumé. She previously represented the Philippines at Miss International 2024, and reached the Top 16 at Miss Universe Philippines 2022.
Although her bid for the MGI crown ended in the Top 25, Lopez brought home a special award and another international pageant experience as the Philippines’ pursuit of an unprecedented third consecutive Miss Grand International title came to a close.
