Miss Grand Philippines Angelica Lopez turned up the heat at the Miss Grand International (MGI) 2026 Preliminary Competition, delivering the high-energy stage presence that pageant fans have been eager to see on the international stage.
The Filipina beauty queen brought her signature showmanship to the swimsuit competition on Wednesday, October 7, at the MGI Hall at Bravo BKK in Bangkok, Thailand, where 77 delegates competed in swimsuit and evening gown.
Lopez commanded the stage with her signature spins, turns, hair flips, expressive hand gestures and powerful walk, embracing the bold and theatrical performance style associated with the Miss Grand International pageant.
Her preliminary performance marked a showcase of the Palaweña’s more uninhibited side, following her stint at Miss International 2024 in Japan, where her energetic presentation had drawn comparisons to the more flamboyant style of Miss Grand International.
This time, Lopez appeared at home with the pageant’s high-octane atmosphere, delivering the kind of pasarela that has become a signature of her pageant identity.
For the evening gown competition, Lopez took a different approach from delegates who embraced dramatic feathered designs inspired by reigning Miss Grand International queen Emma Tiglao. She wore a fully embellished creation by designer Ryan Ablaza Uzon, complete with a matching studded cape.
The preliminary competition also featured an unprecedented gathering of four Miss Grand International titleholders as hosts. Tiglao was joined by her predecessors Christine Juliane “CJ” Opiaza, Luciana Fuster and Isabela Menin.
Now in its 14th edition, Miss Grand International 2026 will culminate in its Grand Final on Saturday, October 10, at the MGI Hall in Bangkok. The coronation night will be streamed live on the Grand TV YouTube channel.
