K-pop superstar Jisoo of BLACKPINK and R&B and pop fusion artist Zayn Malik (previously from the hugely successful British boy band One Direction) will be dropping a fresh new collaboration single, confirming rumors on October 8.

“EYES CLOSED” will be released digitally on October 10.

The collab pairing was first rumored following a teaser Jisoo posted on Instagram of herself and a blurred silhouette of a man a distance behind. She captioned it with, “A duet is near.”

The next day, she shared an image, this time with the man’s back turned, a rose tattooed onto his nape, fuelling more speculation.

Meanwhile, Korean media reported Zayn to be her collaborator after he was sighted at a BLACKPINK concert.

On Thursday, the duet pair also released a teaser of the song’s music video, to be released the same day as the song itself.

At present, Jisoo is touring with the other BLACKPINK girls for their “Deadline” world tour, which is set to hit the Philippine stage this November.

For Zayn, on the other hand, an album is in the works. He revealed it pulls from “a lot of Indian influences” while retaining his pop and R&B sound, as a continuation of his debut album, “Mind of Mine.”
