Supposed former bagmen and bodyguards of ex-congressman Zaldy Co on Tuesday claimed that they delivered suitcases containing cash to the residence of Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero.
During a press briefing held at Doublegem Events Place in Mandaluyong City, one of the individuals alleged that he and others delivered four suitcases of varying sizes to Escudero’s residence.
“Naghatid kami ng apat na maleta na may iba't ibang sukat,” one of the alleged bagmen said during the briefing.
The group also presented photographs which they claimed showed Escudero’s residence, where they allegedly delivered the suitcases from former Rep. Zaldy Co.
According to the same individual, they were allowed inside the property and even shared a meal with household staff at the residence in New Manila.
The press briefing was attended by former congressman Mike Defensor, lawyer Levi Baligod, the 18 individuals identifying themselves as former bodyguards, and four additional individuals who were also introduced as former members of Co’s security team.
Escudero has yet to issue a response to the latest allegations.
However, the senator had previously denied any involvement in an alleged flood control kickback scheme.
