Marvel fans are in for a historic crossover as the X-Men and the Avengers are finally set to share the screen for the first time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

On January 7, Marvel dropped the third teaser for Avengers: Doomsday, marking the return of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes—this time alongside the iconic mutant team.

The teaser strongly hints at a poignant reunion between Professor X, once again seen in his wheelchair, and an aged Magneto, portrayed by Ian McKellen. The moment appears to echo what could be the pair’s final chess match.

“Death comes for us all, it’s all I know for sure. The question isn’t - are you prepared to die? The question is - who would you be when you close your eyes?” Magneto asks in the teaser.

The footage also offers a haunting glimpse of what appears to be the ruins of Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, located on Graymalkin Lane in Westchester County.

Another standout moment features Cyclops, also known as Scott Summers and played by James Marsden, as he removes his visor and unleashes the full power of his optic blast while defending himself against a Sentinel attack.

Since December, Marvel Studios has steadily released teasers for Avengers: Doomsday, which is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026.

The first teaser, released just ahead of Christmas, showcased the unexpected return of Steve Rogers, Captain America, seen holding a baby.

A second teaser followed before New Year’s Eve, focusing on Thor, the God of Thunder, as he prays to his father Odin for the strength of the All-Fathers “to defeat one more enemy,” hoping to make his way back home to his daughter.
