A fire broke out at the workers' barracks inside the House of Representatives compound in Batasan Hills, Quezon City, on Sunday morning, August 2.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) raised the first alarm at 9:43 a.m. Firefighters later brought the blaze under control before declaring a fire out at 9:54 a.m.

Based on the initial investigation, the affected area was identified as the living quarters of workers inside the compound. Authorities clarified that the structure is separate from the main building of the House of Representatives.
