A woman was left bloodied and unconscious after being involved in a collision between a motorcycle and a closed van near the intersection of Abad Santos and Rizal Avenue, southbound, in Manila on early Friday, January 30.

According to a report by Boy Gonzales, witnesses said the accident happened past 4 a.m. when the closed van sideswiped the motorcycle, causing the rider to be thrown off and seriously injured.

The woman sustained head injuries and was already unconscious when rescuers arrived at the scene. She was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital for further medical treatment.

Traffic flow in the area was temporarily affected but quickly returned to normal after the two vehicles involved were cleared from the road.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the cause of the accident and who may be held responsible.
