Tropical Depression Wilma decelerated while moving over the Philippine Sea east of Northern Samar.

According to PAGASA’s 5:00 PM bulletin on Thursday, December 4, the center of the tropical depression was estimated at 575 km East of Catarman, Northern Samar.

It has maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 55km/h, and a central pressure of 1004 hPa. It is currently moving west-southwestward at 10 km/h.

Tropical Cyclone Winds Signal (TCWS) No. 1 is also in effect in parts of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Wilma is forecast to move west southwestward until Saturday (December 6), before turning westward. The state weather bureau stated that the tropical depression may make its initial landfall in Eastern Visayas or Dinagat Islands between Friday (December 5) evening and Saturday morning. It will continue to traverse Visayas until Sunday (December 7).

Although Wilma will slightly intensify before landfall, it will likely remain a tropical depression throughout the forecast period, the PAGASA said.
