Television host Willie Revillame refuted allegations made by a supposed former production intern who claimed staff were prohibited from looking at, approaching, or speaking to him, calling the accusation “fake news” and a publicity stunt.
During the May 6 episode of his program “Wilyonaryo,“ Revillame addressed the issue directly, saying he does not even know the individual making the claims.
The controversy stemmed from statements made by stand-up comedian Dex Conche, who identified himself as a former intern of Revillame’s show. Speaking on the podcast “Walang Edit Edit“ on April 27, Conche alleged that interns were instructed not to look at, approach, or talk to the host.
“Bawal mo siyang tingnan,” Conche said.
“Production intern ako within the studio. Huwag mo siyang lalapitan. Kasi ang mapa-fire 'yung supervisor namin,” he added.
In response, Revillame shared that his assigned dressing room was located backstage, which he claimed was often empty.
Revillame dismissed the allegations and criticized Conche, saying the claims were fabricated to gain attention.
“Kaya huwag po kayong maniniwala na bawal akong tingnan o ano,” he said.
“Siraulo 'tong batang 'to. Gustong sumikat. Pati ako gagamitin n'yo? Paanong bawal akong tingnan?
The host challenged Conche to appear on his show and confront him directly.
“Hindi nga namin kilala to eh… Bawal daw akong tingnan.
Revillame also expressed frustration over what he described as repeated misinformation about him, especially amid reports of the possible return of his former show Wowowin.
Ha?, he said.
Paglalaruan niyo ‘yung tao?”
“Diyos ko po. Matakot ka sa Diyos,” he added.
He ended his statement with a message to Conche, urging him to focus on his future and avoid spreading falsehoods.
At huwag kang magsisinungaling,” he said.
