Rising Filipino content creator Louise Anne Nagal, better known as ‘Lans,’ is currently trending on social media, drawing attention for her educational yet entertaining videos and her rapidly growing online following.

Lans, a veterinary medicine student who creates “fun fact” and informational content, has gained popularity for her refreshing on-camera presence and simple, relatable style. Many viewers have praised her ability to present educational topics in a way that is engaging and easy to understand, without feeling repetitive or overly formal.

Her signature introduction, “This is Lans,” often followed by “This is Laaansss, at sa araw na ’to…,” has become widely recognizable among her followers.

Much of the online discussion surrounding Lans has focused on her content style, with netizens highlighting her “clean,” informative, and feel-good approach.

One social media user commented: “Informative, good vibes, nakakaaliw at may natututunan ka sa bawat video. Sa panahon na maraming content ang puro prank, issue, o drama, nakakatuwang makakita ng creator na nagbibigay ng kaalaman habang nagpapasaya.”

Another post by former Eat Bulaga dancer, now a content creator and a mom, EB Babes Molly, also praised her originality and presence, saying: “You know what she reminds me of? Sineskwela — my favorite TV show when I was younger... What I admire most is that she didn’t need shock value or controversy to get people to watch. Her content speaks for itself.”

”As a mom, I hope to see more content like this from kids her age. Content that sparks curiosity, encourages learning, and shows children that they can be known for their minds, talents, and character. May all our daughters find the Laaanss in themselves, making a space in the world without having to compromise who they are just to be seen,” she added.

Critics of these comparisons argue that they can be unfair or divisive, emphasizing that different creators serve different audiences and creative niches.

"[B]akit ba laging may obsession ang ilang lalaki na gumawa ng ranking system para sa kababaihan? “good women” versus “bad women.” “respectable” versus “not respectable.” Parang hindi kayo mapakali hangga’t hindi ninyo nalalagyan ng scorecard ang bawat babae na nakikita ninyo," a netizen wrote in a Facebook post.

"She deserves recognition because of her content. period. [H]indi dahil mas “morally acceptable” siya kumpara sa ibang babae. [K]ung kailangan ninyong gamitin siya para manghamak ng mga babaeng sumasayaw, nagmomodel, nagpapakita ng balat sa camera, o nag-eexpress ng sexuality nila, hindi kayo humahanga sa intelligence. [N]aghahanap lang kayo ng bagong paraan para kontrolin at husgahan ang kababaihan," it added.

A social media post also noted that the focus should remain on LANS content—highlighting “the science she shares, the curiosity she sparks, and the way she encourages young Filipinos to take interest in animals, nature, and learning.“

“That’s where the conversation should stay. She doesn’t need comparisons,” the creator added.

Amid her rising popularity, Lans expressed gratitude to her supporters for their continued encouragement and engagement. She also addressed the growing attention by urging followers to avoid comparing her with other content creators.

"Nakakataba man po ng puso ang mga good reviews sa contents natin, sana po ay iwasan natin ang pagcocompare/mang-bash sa iba pong content creators. Iba iba po kasi ang niche natin, mapa-lifestyle man yan, skits, pranks, sports, educational, motivational/inspirational, at marami pa pong iba. May kanya-kanya pong pagkakakilanlan ang bawat isa at pinaghirapan po nila ‘yon. At sumusuporta rin po ako sa iba't ibang content creators natin, as long as wala kaming natatapakang tao," Lans said in a social media post on Monday, June 21.

She emphasized that every creator has their own path and niche—whether in education, entertainment, lifestyle, or other genres—and that each one puts significant effort into producing content.

Lans also acknowledged the work involved in content creation, from planning and filming to editing, and stressed that creators deserve respect for their craft.

“Sa totoo lang po, hindi po talaga madali ang umisip ng content, mag-shoot, mag-edit, at mas mahirap pong naikukumpara. Kung hindi po dahil sa kanila, baka wala rin po siguro ako dito ngayon,“ she said.

“Sila po ang mga nauna at sila rin po ang dahilan kung bakit ganito nalang natin tangkilikin ang content creators sa panahon ngayon. Masaya po akong maging parte ng industry na ito, doing our purpose. Sana po ay maintindihan niyo,“ the content creator added.

The content creator now has 3.8 million followers on Facebook, as of 5:15 p.m. on Monday, June 22.
