The White Ribbon March on Sunday, June 28, concluded “peacefully and orderly,” said the Quezon City Police District (QCPD).
The QCPD said that, working alongside agencies such as the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (QCDRRMO), Traffic and Transport Management Department (TTMD), and Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS), it had carried out sweeping security measures.
“These included the deployment of Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) teams, mobile patrol units, traffic management personnel, and other contingency measures that helped maintain peace and order throughout the activity,” it said in a statement.
The rally participants, who were from various sectoral and civic groups, gathered along White Plains Avenue. According to authorities, they cooperated and observed the guidelines imposed.
The rally officially ended at around 5:55 p.m., said the QCPD. Upon its conclusion, the participants voluntarily dispersed in “an orderly manner.”
“No untoward incidents were recorded, traffic remained manageable, and the participants' constitutional right to peaceful assembly was fully respected,” the police said.
The White Ribbon Movement and Indignation Rally was held to call for an end to corruption. Participants, including members of faith-based and civil society groups, marched from the EDSA Shrine to the People Power Monument in Quezon City, according to reports.
