The arraignment of Vice President Sara Duterte in a grave threats case was postponed for the second time Friday after her camp filed a motion for partial reconsideration before the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 98.

Duterte’s lawyer, Paul Lawrence Lim, said the motion asks the court to reconsider its earlier denial of their request concerning the presiding judge, while noting that the court had allowed the deferment of the arraignment.

"So finile namin motion for partial reconsideration para pagka hingin sa judge na ire-consider niya, gawing part ng order niya," Lim said.

The motion remains pending before the court, Lim said, adding that Duterte’s camp is also awaiting action on its petition before the Supreme Court.

The case stemmed from Duterte’s remarks during an online press conference in November 2024, when she said she had hired a hitman to target President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez if she were killed.

Duterte arrived at the Quezon City Hall of Justice at around 8:27 a.m. and stayed for about an hour.

After her appearance, she declined to give an interview but thanked her supporters who had gathered outside the courthouse.
