Vice President Sara Duterte on Saturday called on graduating cadets of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Talang Dangal” Class of 2026 to uphold integrity and courage as they begin their service to the country.

In a message delivered for the commencement rites, Duterte said the cadets’ graduation marks the culmination of a “rigorous journey” defined by discipline, sacrifice and duty.

“As you step out of Fort Del Pilar, your lifelong commitment to the nation begins,” Duterte said. “Put to good use the training and values this institution has instilled in you.”

She urged the new officers to embody the nation’s pride, honor and dignity, and to remain steadfast in protecting the country’s sovereignty and liberties.

“I urge you to personify integrity and courage at all times. Stand firm against all threats to our sovereignty and our liberties. Do not waver, even in the face of the most difficult challenges,” she said.

Duterte also thanked the graduates for choosing a career in military service, describing it as a “noble path” dedicated to safeguarding the welfare of Filipinos.

“May your service be a testament to your determination to protect our country and uphold the welfare of every Filipino,” she added.

The vice president extended her congratulations to the graduates and their families, joining the PMA community in celebrating the milestone.
