Vice President Sara Duterte on Thursday gave a brief response when asked about circulating online rumors regarding the health of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
“Good luck sa kaniya,” Duterte said on the sidelines of the 84th commemoration of Araw ng Kagitingan at the Veterans Memorial Monument in Davao.
Her comment came amid widespread online discussions suggesting that the President was seriously ill.
Malacañang earlier dismissed such concerns, with presidential officials assuring the public that Marcos is in good health.
The President himself clarified his condition after being diagnosed with diverticulitis, emphasizing that he has returned to his normal routine.
“I am back to my regular routine for the last three months. I continue to watch my health, making sure that I am always ready to work,” Marcos said.
Malacañang officials have also addressed circulating online speculation, urging the public not to be swayed by unverified reports.
It also said that the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) is preparing charges against individuals who have been spreading “fake news” about the President’s health, and allegedly diverting public attention to the nation’s state of energy emergency.
