Vice President Sara Duterte shared her greetings for World Teachers’ Day on Sunday, expressing her appreciation for teachers’ role in guiding the youth towards brighter futures.

“Sa araw na ito, ating kinikilala ang mahalagang papel na ginagampanan ng ating mga guro sa pagtaguyod ng matatag na sambayanan at maliwanag na kinabukasan para sa ating mga kabataan,” Duterte said.

She acknowledged the sacrifices teachers make daily in order to bring out the best in their students.

“Hindi lingid sa amin ang sakripisyo na inyong ginugugol upang hubugin ang kanilang kakayahan, dunong, at pundasyon ng kanilang pagpapahalaga at pagkatao,” the Vice President said.

Duterte wished all teachers continued success, strength, and health.

World Teachers’ Day, celebrated every October 5, honors teachers worldwide and marks the anniversary of the 1966 ILO/UNESCO Recommendation that established global standards for their rights, responsibilities, and working conditions.
