

Vice President Sara Duterte filed her counter-affidavit before the Office of the Ombudsman on Friday afternoon.
RH Henry Uri reported that before 2:00 PM today, the Vice President’s camp filed the counter-affidavit before the Office of the Ombudsman.
Her lawyer, Atty. Michael Wesley Poa, along with her representatives, filed the counter-affidavit in her stead right before the deadline set by the Ombudsman.
According to the report, VP Duterte’s camp did not provide a copy of the document’s contents.
The counter-affidavit concerns the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability's recommendation to file charges against the Vice President, former Special Disbursing Officers Edward Fajarda and Gina Acosta, as well as former DepEd personnel Sunshine Fajarda and Nolasco Mempin, over the misuse of confidential funds.
The Vice President had previously expressed that she is prepared to face whatever charges will be filed against her. There are 24 listed Articles of Impeachment against her. It was categorized into four points: graft and corruption, bribery, the betrayal of public trust, and other high crimes.
