

Vice President Sara Duterte personally visited Mati City to extend support and condolences to residents severely affected by the magnitude 7.4 earthquake that struck the Davao Region on October 10, 2025.
During his visit, the Vice President met with victims and personally condoled with the family of a 53-year-old woman who died after her home collapsed during the quake.
Duterte also reminded the public to always remain vigilant and prepared for natural disasters, emphasizing the importance of “presence of mind” and having Go Bags ready — containing essential supplies for emergency use.
She also called for national unity and compassion amid the tragedy, urging Filipinos to stand together in times of adversity.
The 7.4 magnitude earthquake that rocked parts of Mindanao caused significant damage to homes and infrastructure, with aftershocks continuing to be felt in surrounding areas.
Government agencies, including the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), have since mobilized relief efforts and assistance for affected families.
