

Vice President Sara Duterte and Senator Bong Go have appeared as the early frontrunners for the 2028 national elections, according to the latest WR Numero Research survey conducted from July 29 to August 5, 2025.
Duterte leads nationwide support
Despite the issues that Vice President Duterte is currently facing, survey data show her taking the lead nationwide with 31.4%. Regionally, she secured 66% of respondents’ preferences in Mindanao, 31% in the Visayas, and 19% in Metro Manila. In the rest of Luzon, she garnered 18%, trailing only behind undecided voters. Overall, her strong regional bases position her as the most prominent early contender for the nation’s top post.
Duterte’s top competitors include former Vice President and current Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo (13.3%), Senator Raffy Tulfo (10.3%), Senator Bong Go (6.5%), Senator Imee Marcos (4.4%), and newcomer Senator Bam Aquino (3.1%).
Go Tops Vice Presidential Race
For the vice presidency, Senator Bong Go ranked first with 16.2% of nationwide voter preference, despite a 6.9-point drop from the April 2025 figures. His closest competitor is Senator Raffy Tulfo with 14.9%, followed by Bam Aquino (8.4%), Robin Padilla (7.7%), and Grace Poe (6.8%). Other notable names include Chiz Escudero (5.9%), Imee Marcos (4.5%), and Risa Hontiveros (4.3%).
The survey also showed a significant pool of undecided voters. Meanwhile, members of the opposition continue their work in their respective offices and committee chairmanships, aiming to demonstrate their effectiveness in implementing projects for the benefit of the Filipino people.
