Vice President Sara Duterte personally attended the opening of a pop-up exhibit in Laguna on the last day of the House Justice Committee's impeachment hearing on her case on Wednesday, April 29.
Duterte was at Robinsons Laguna for the ribbon-cutting of the “EXTRA+Ordinary: The Vice Presidents of the Philippines” exhibit.
During the ongoing fourth impeachment hearing, committee members tackled the threats Duterte previously made against the lives of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
In 2024, the vice president announced in a profanity-laden video conference that she had hired a hit man to kill the three if she were assassinated herself.
National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Cybercrime Division Investigation Agent John Mark Calilung on Wednesday confirmed to the justice panel that the said video was authentic and unaltered.
Moreover, NBI Director Atty. Melvin Matibag announced that, with the issuance of Administrative Order No. 11, a task force has been formed as a response to concerning rhetoric circulating on social media.
“I issued an Administrative Order No. 11 po dahil sunod-sunod na nga ang threats na nakikita namin sa social media, creating a task force to continue investigating this matter,” Matibag told the lawmakers.
