Vice President Sara Duterte alleged that police harassed her mother and child following the issuance of arrest warrants against her.

“Hinarass nila ‘yung lugar kung nasaan ‘yung nanay ko at saka ‘yung anak ko,” Duterte said as she arrived at the Quezon City Regional Trial Court on Saturday, September 5.

She also claimed that she has been experiencing police harassment since 2023, saying she does not feel safe anywhere, including when she is with her children.

“Wala akong tiwala sa pulis. I do not feel safe. Since 2023 ganito na ‘yun at alam ninyo documented. I do not feel safe, anywhere,” she said.

Duterte also expressed fears for her life, questioning who would be held accountable if something happened to her.

“Sinong sasagot kapag namatay ako mamayang gabi? Sinong mananagot? Sinong mananagot?” she said.

The Vice President further alleged that authorities could make any harm that may happen to her appear accidental.

“Siyempre maghuhugas-kamay lang yung pulis, make it look like an accident. Maghuhugas-kamay lang yung judge,” Duterte said.

“I do not feel safe at all. Kahit anong gawin ko, no. Gusto ko nakikita ng maraming tao. Hindi ko naman alam kung anong mangyayari sa akin diyan sa loob. Hindi ko nga alam kung anong mangyayari any minute now,” she added.

Duterte did not name specific individuals but alluded to powerful personalities whom she said were involved in the situation, including the President’s wife and cousin.

“Alam niyo, Presidente ito, asawa ng Presidente, pinsan ng Presidente. Saan ako pupunta?” she said.

The QC RTC issued a warrant of arrest against Duterte in connection with the grave threats cases. The court set bail at P120,000 for each count, or P360,000 for the three counts.
