Vice President Sara Duterte has yet to decide whether she will personally attend the fifth day of her impeachment trial at the Senate on Monday, July 14, according to defense spokesperson Atty. Michael Poa.
Speaking to reporters before the day's proceedings, Poa said he had spoken with the Vice President just minutes before arriving at the Senate, but Duterte remained uncertain due to several scheduled meetings.
"Actually, I spoke to her a few minutes ago before entering the Senate. Hindi pa siya sure kung makakapunta siya today. Unsure pa dahil meron siyang mga scheduled meetings. Titignan pa daw kung makakahabol or hindi. But again, hindi pa po sure," Poa said.
Poa added that the possibility of Duterte attending the proceedings had not been ruled out, noting that she is currently in Manila.
"Maaari po (na pumunta siya). Hindi lang namin diniscount. Ayoko lang sabihin categorically dahil nga hindi pa siya sure because she's in Manila but she has several meetings scheduled. So titignan lang daw niya kung makakahabol siya. I guess it will depend on kung meron pang ongoing at that time," he added.
The Senate impeachment court is set to continue hearing the case against the Vice President, with additional witnesses expected to testify during the day's proceedings.
