Vice President Sara Duterte said she does not commission her own political surveys, citing cost and concerns over data credibility, as she addressed recent polling results showing her leading in a WR Numero Research survey.
In an interview in Davao City during the commemoration of Araw ng Kagitingan at the Veterans Memorial Monument, Duterte explained that conducting surveys is expensive and not always reliable.
“Alam niyo sa totoo lang, ako mismo hindi ako nagpapa-survey. Dahil unang-una, mahal yung pagpapa-survey. Pangalawa, hindi natin alam kung totoo ba talaga yung kaniyang data,” she said, emphasizing her skepticism about privately commissioned survey results.
Despite this, the Vice President expressed gratitude for public trust and support, saying she appreciates the continued confidence in her leadership and service.
“Pero nagpapasalamat ako sa patuloy na suporta at pagtitiwala ng ating mga kababayan sa aming kakayahan para magbigay ng makatotohanang serbisyo,” Duterte added.
Her remarks come amid ongoing political discussions surrounding early survey trends ahead of the next electoral cycle, where she has consistently remained among the top-ranking figures in preference polls.
Duterte’s statement highlights both her caution toward polling methodologies and her acknowledgment of sustained public backing, as political attention begins to build ahead of future national elections.
