Vice President Sara Duterte expressed her condolences to the Royal Family and people of Norway following the death of King Harald V, who passed away on August 28 at the age of 89.

In a Facebook post, Duterte said she recently visited the residence of the Norwegian ambassador in Makati City to personally convey her condolences and sign the book of condolence for the late monarch.

“Binisita natin noong mga nakaraang linggo ang tahanan ng Ambassador ng Kingdom of Norway sa Makati City upang makiisa at personal na ipaabot ang ating taos-pusong pakikiramay sa pagpanaw ni King Harald V noong ika-28 ng Agosto, sa edad na 89,” Duterte said.

She also extended her sympathies to King Haakon VIII, the Royal Family, and the people of Norway during their period of mourning.

Duterte described King Harald V as a humble and inclusive monarch who contributed to Norway’s development and served as a symbol of stability during times of crisis.

King Harald V died peacefully at Oslo University Hospital Rikshospitalet on August 28, according to Norway’s Royal Court.

Duterte concluded her message by reiterating her call to love and serve the Philippines “para sa Diyos, sa Bayan, at sa bawat Pamilyang Pilipino.”
