Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday, August 17, appeared before the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office following the filing of a second perjury complaint against Ramil Madriaga.
According to the Office of the Vice President (OVP), Duterte personally appeared at the prosecutor’s office in connection with the complaint. She was accompanied by her legal counsel, Atty. Paolo Panelo, during the filing.
The OVP disclosed the development in a media release dated August 17, saying Duterte went to the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office following the filing of the second perjury complaint against Madriaga.
The latest complaint is the second perjury case filed against Madriaga, although the OVP media release did not provide further details on the allegations or the specific statements being questioned.
Duterte’s appearance before the prosecutor’s office comes as she continues to face legal and political challenges, including the ongoing impeachment proceedings before the Senate.
The OVP said the vice president was accompanied by Panelo throughout the filing of the complaint.
