Sen. Joel Villanueva on Tuesday urged the management of North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) to waive or refund toll fees for motorists severely affected by two days of heavy traffic caused by flooding and prolonged road closures.

Villanueva said NLEX should consider providing relief to motorists who paid toll fees but were left stuck in floodwaters and prolonged traffic along the expressway.

He said it was unfair for motorists to pay for using the toll road while being severely inconvenienced by flooding and extended closures.

“Nagbabayad ka na ng toll, naiipit ka pa sa baha,” Villanueva said.
