Authorities on Wednesday removed vehicles parked along White Plains Avenue and the side of EDSA that were used by participants of the rally organized by the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC), following an agreement with organizers to help ease traffic in the area.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Public Information Office Chief PMaj. Jeniffer Gannaban said the removal of the vehicles was part of the conditions set under the rally permit issued by the Quezon City local government.

"Kasama sa kanilang permit ay kailangan nilang alisin yung mga sasakyan na naka-park along White Plains at saka sa EDSA para lumuwag ang daloy ng trapiko," Gannaban said.

According to Gannaban, the clearing operation aims to improve traffic flow and minimize inconvenience to motorists affected by the parked vehicles.

She added that the police are coordinating with the Quezon City local government, which is in communication with representatives of the religious group regarding the implementation of the clearing operations.

"Sa ngayon, inaantay natin ang QC-LGU. Nakipag-coordinate na tayo doon," she said.

Authorities have yet to determine whether the rally will continue in the coming days. Gannaban noted that any extension of the gathering would require organizers to secure a new permit.
