Manila will host the inaugural VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) Pacific Cup from April 29 to May 23, 2027, as Riot Games introduces a tournament-based format for its global esports circuit.
The event will feature teams competing for qualification spots at Masters Valencia as part of a revamped VCT season spanning 15 cities and more than 50 tournaments worldwide.
The new format will replace the traditional regional league system, including the VCT Pacific stages previously held primarily in Seoul, South Korea.
However, the changes will also affect the Philippine competitive scene. Starting in 2027, the Philippines will join Malaysia, Singapore and other Southeast Asian countries in the Pacific Wild Card region, while South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam will have dedicated regional competitions.
The restructuring means Filipino teams will need to compete through the broader Wild Card system to advance to higher-level VCT events.
The Manila-hosted tournament will give local fans an opportunity to witness top-level VALORANT competition on home soil as the game enters a new phase of its esports ecosystem.
