The Valenzuela City Government has issued an official statement condemning the brutal attack on “Kobe,” a dog whose tongue was cut by an unidentified suspect on December 11.
In its statement, the city government said, “The City Government of Valenzuela strongly condemns any form of animal cruelty and remains committed to promoting kindness, responsible pet ownership, and upholding lawful treatment of all animals in the City.”
City officials confirmed that a joint task force has been formed with the Valenzuela City Police Station and the City Veterinary Office to “thoroughly investigate and validate all available evidence that would establish complete circumstances of the case.”
The local government also noted that the police have already released their initial findings, while appealing to the public to report any related incidents. “We encourage the public to report concerns related to animal cruelty or neglect,” the statement read.
Valenzuela City reaffirmed its enforcement of its Responsible Pet Ownership Ordinance, which requires proper care, shelter, vaccination, and humane treatment of animals.
Mayor Wes Gatchalian urged residents to stand with the city in fostering a safe and compassionate community: “Together, let us help create a City that values life, safety, and compassion.”
