Palace Press Officer Usec. Atty. Claire Castro lambasted former actor and television host Anjo Yllana after he dragged President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. into his social media rants while criticizing Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.
In a video posted on her YouTube channel, Castro reacted to Yllana’s call for President Marcos to undergo a hair follicle drug test, saying the actor has no credibility and appeared to be siding with the Duterte camp.
“Who are you? Sino ka to demand for that? Castro said.
Wala kang kredibilidad," she added.
Castro questioned Yllana’s motive for attacking the President: “May nagdidikta ba sa’yo para masira ang pangulo?”
The Palace official also shared a video clip where Yllana could be heard suggesting that the presidency be turned over to Vice President Sara Duterte should Marcos step down, with two and a half years still left in his term.
Castro further questioned why Yllana did not make similar demands for former President Rodrigo Duterte, who admitted to taking marijuana and fentanyl during his term to stay awake.
“Dating Pangulong Duterte umamin na nagmamarijuana at the time na siya ay Presidente, to keep him awake,” Castro noted.
Castro also warned about the implications if the Vice President were to take over.
Castro also cited an article about Yllana, noting that he was given a position in the Senate by Senator Jinggoy Estrada after struggling to find work in show business. She said Yllana, a close friend of Senator Robin Padilla, sought Estrada’s help for employment.
“Pampalipas oras ito para mayroon siyang kitain. Ano ‘to, not really to serve the country? Kundi kailangan lang niya ng trabaho,” Castro said.
The Palace official’s remarks came after Yllana’s social media post calling for a drug test for Marcos, which she viewed as a politically motivated move to favor the Vice President.
