

A new addition to the Pinoy queer cinema is coming and this one’s for the sapphics!
On Sunday, May 25, actress Jasmine Curtis-Smith revealed that she will be starring in an upcoming sapphic film, alongside Janella Salvador, Klea Pineda, and Leanne Mamonong of the indie pop duo, Leanne & Naara.

The film, “Open Endings,” is directed by Nigel Santos and is an official entry to the 2025 Cinemalaya Film Festival.
According to the film’s description on its X post, the film follows “the lives of four queer women—who are exes turned best friends—take an unexpected shift when one makes a life-changing decision.”

In a separate X post, Janella expressed her excitement for the film.
“the way i’ve been holding this in for months,” she wrote.
This will be Jasmine’s second sapphic film, following her role in Samantha Lee’s “Baka Bukas” in 2016.
