Pump prices of petroleum products could decline by as much as ₱4 per liter next week, offering possible relief to motorists after a series of fuel price increases.

According to a report by RH Jecelle Ricafort, an energy source of DZRH News said diesel prices could be rolled back by ₱3.50 to P4 per liter, while gasoline prices could fall by 25 to 75 centavos per liter.

Kerosene prices, meanwhile, could be reduced by about ₱3.80 per liter.

The projected adjustments are based on four days of trading in the international oil market. The figures remain subject to change following the final trading day on Friday.

The potential rollback comes after pump prices rose Tuesday by ₱1.08 per liter for gasoline, ₱2.31 for diesel and 95 centavos for kerosene.

Several groups of jeepney drivers, including the Pagkakaisa ng mga Samahang Tsuper at Operator Nationwide (PISTON), have criticized the successive fuel price increases, particularly as the country has been experiencing storms and southwest monsoon rains.

The Department of Energy (DOE) has assured the public that fuel supplies remain stable despite heightened tensions in the Middle East.

The agency said the country's supply chain has already adjusted to the situation, although global oil prices are expected to remain elevated.
