The situation at the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman campus had returned to normal as of 4 p.m. Thursday, October 15, following a bomb threat targeting Palma Hall and Malcolm Hall earlier in the afternoon.

In the report of DZRH's Val Gonzales, students and faculty members were evacuated from the two buildings at around 3 p.m. after the threat was reported.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said its investigation found that the threatening message was sent through Instagram by an account using the alias “Ray,” who reportedly claimed to be a student.

The message allegedly threatened to cause harm inside Palma Hall and Malcolm Hall, prompting the evacuation and police response.

Responding QCPD personnel, together with the Explosive Ordnance Division (EOD), conducted an inspection of the affected buildings to check for possible explosive devices or other dangerous objects.

However, authorities found no suspicious or hazardous items during the inspection.
