The University of Makati (UMak) confirmed that a student was found dead inside the university campus on Friday, August 28.

In a statement, the university said it has reached out to the student’s family and coordinated with authorities for the proper investigation into the incident.

UMak also said guidance counselors, trained faculty members, and staff are available to provide support and psychological first aid to members of the university community who may need assistance.

The university appealed to the community to respect the family’s privacy and refrain from spreading unverified or speculative details about the incident.

“We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the student’s family and loved ones during this difficult time,” UMak said.

No further details about the circumstances surrounding the student’s death were immediately disclosed.
