Although the typhoon with the international name “Sinlaku” still has the possibility of entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by late next week, it has a low chance of making landfall over the country’s landmass, PAGASA said on Sunday, April 12.
As of 3 AM, the typhoon was last spotted 2,745 kilometers east of northeastern Mindanao, packing maximum sustained winds of 150 km/h and gusts of up to 185 km/h, while moving slowly northwestward.
Torres noted that the public is advised to continue monitoring updates from DOST-PAGASA.
Meanwhile, the ridge of the High Pressure Area (HPA) is extending over Northern Luzon on Sunday.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms are expected in Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms.
