

The trough of Typhoon Choi-Wan is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over parts of the Visayas and Mindanao on Sunday, October 4, according to PAGASA.
Affected areas include Mindanao, Western Visayas, the Negros Island Region, Central Visayas, and Southern Leyte.
As of 3 a.m. Sunday, Choi-Wan was located 2,595 kilometers east of Extreme Northern Luzon, outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
The typhoon was packing maximum sustained winds of 155 kilometers per hour near the center, with gustiness of up to 190 kph. It was moving north-northeastward at 15 kph.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
Residents in affected areas are advised to remain alert for possible sudden heavy rains and thunderstorms.
