

Two men were arrested for alleged violation of the Republic Act No. 10883, or the New Anti-Carnapping Law, after police caught them pushing a motorcycle under suspicious circumstances on February 12, at around 2:00 p.m. in Phase 6E, Barangay Graceville, San Jose del Monte City.
Operatives from the Sector 2 unit of the San Jose del Monte City Police Station responded after a concerned witness reported seeing the two men pushing a black Suzuki Address motorcycle and finding their behavior unusual.
PLTCOL Reyson M. Bagain, chief of police, identified the suspects only by their aliases “Web,” 22, a mechanic from Bigte, Norzagaray, and “Mike,” 27, a resident of Barangay Gayagaya, San Jose del Monte City. Their arrest led to the recovery of the motorcycle believed to be involved in the incident.
The suspects were informed of the charges that may be filed against them and were apprised of their constitutional rights. They were also brought to the City of San Jose del Monte Hospital for physical examination before being placed under police custody for documentation.
Charges for violation of Republic Act No. 10883 are being prepared against the suspects.
