Two siblings died after drowning in the waters off Sitio Fuerte, Barangay Poblacion in Morong, Bataan at around 9:45 a.m. on Black Saturday.

According to a report by Danny Cumilang, the victims were Grade 12 and a first-year college student. Both were residents of Valenzuela City, according to Bataan Provincial Director PCOL Marites A. Salvadora.

Based on initial reports, relatives of the victims noticed that the siblings were already struggling in the water and immediately sought help. Personnel from the PNP Maritime Group responded to the incident, but the victims were not rescued in time.

The siblings were rushed to the Morong Rural Health Unit, where they were declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Authorities continue to remind the public to observe safety precautions when swimming, especially during the Holy Week break when more people flock to beaches and coastal areas.
