Two motorcycle taxi drivers were arrested during a buy-bust operation in Quezon City early Wednesday, March 11, after authorities seized an estimated ₱142 million worth of suspected shabu.
According to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the suspects, identified only by their aliases “Rolando,” 42, and “Eli,” 28, were apprehended at around 3:10 a.m. along Biak na Bato Street in Barangay Santo Domingo.
Authorities said the two were caught in the act of selling about 500 grams of illegal drugs to an undercover agent who posed as a buyer during the operation.
Operatives recovered around 20.5 kilograms of suspected shabu stored in plastic containers inside the suspects’ vehicle. Also confiscated were the buy-bust money, a Toyota HiAce Grandia van, identification cards, mobile phones, and a digital weighing scale.
The suspects will face charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) under Republic Act No. 9165.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the possible source and distribution network of the illegal drugs.
