Global pop phenomenon TWICE has made history as the very first K-pop group to light up the stage of Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on October 15 in New York.
Nayeon, Momo, Tzuyu, and Jihyo, four of the nine-piece group, sported sexy, stylish lingerie-inspired outfits with matching pink, knee-high, faux fur boots as they performed “This is For” and “Strategy” on the runway.
On the pink carpet, the group expressed gratitude for the opportunity to perform at the timeless fashion spectacle.
“We are very happy and thankful to be invited and we love the fun and free feeling of the pink. It’s really special to join a show that makes a woman feel strong and beautiful,” Tzuyu said during a pre-show interview.
Jihyo, the group’s leader, also hoped the audience would enjoy their performance, even with only four of them onstage.
“This is For” is the title track of their fourth studio album, and “Strategy” is on the soundtrack of the wildly popular animated film Kpop Demon Hunters.
The girl group was at the Philippine Arena on October 4 for their “This is For” tour.
Other Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show highlights
Besides TWICE, the all-female lineup featured Karol G., Missy Elliot, and Madison Beer.
Karol G. sang entirely in Spanish, performing “Ivonny Bonita” and “Latina Forever,” while Madison Beer treated the audience to her first live performance of “Bittersweet,” her most recent single.
Moreover, Jasmine Tookes opened the show, with a giant clam-like structure beaded with pearls fanning out behind her, and a loose mesh dress over a baby bump.
