Microblogging and social networking platform Tumblr said it is working on restoring access to its site amid alleged blocking in the Philippines.
“We’re heartbroken that users in the Philippines are currently unable to access Tumblr. We are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it,” Tumblr said in a statement released on Thursday, March 12.
The microblogging site then assured users that it remains a space for every nationality, background, identity, and point of view, adding, “We hope to share a positive update soon.”

Social media users began experiencing issues accessing the platform earlier this week.
Meanwhile, the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) announced on Wednesday evening that investigations are ongoing regarding the alleged blocking of Tumblr in the Philippines.
“The CICC assures that this matter is being reviewed with priority, and we will provide further updates once the investigation is completed,” its statement read.
Tumblr is a microblogging platform founded in 2007 that acts as a hybrid between a traditional blog and social media. It became popular in the mid-2010s, wherein topics on fandoms, fashion, and the Tumblr aesthetic were often reblogged by its users.
