

Tropical Storm Paeng continues to bring heavy rains to several parts of the Philippines.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned that Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Samar, and Eastern Samar will experience heavy to intense with at times torrential rains until Saturday, October 29.
Meanwhile, Western Visayas, Marinduque, Romblon, and Quezon will experience moderate to heavy with at times intense rains.
PAGASA also said that light to moderate with at times heavy rains will prevail over Caraga, Zamboanga Peninsula, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Northern Mindanao, mainland Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Rizal, Laguna, and the rest of Visayas.
As of 5:00AM on Friday, October 28, PAGASA tracked the center of Tropical Storm Paeng at 410 kilometers east of Borongan City, Eastern Samar, and the weather disturbance moves west-northwest with a speed of 15 kilometers per hour.
TS Paeng has a maximum wind strength of 75 kilometers per hour and gustiness of 90 kilometers per hour.
PAGASA has raised tropical cyclone warning signal no. 2 over these areas:
- Catanduanes,
- Albay,
- Sorsogon,
- the eastern portion of Camarines Sur (Caramoan, Garchitorena, Presentacion, Lagonoy, Goa, San Jose, Tigaon, Iriga City, Saglay, Buhi)
- Northern Samar,
- and the northern portion of Eastern Samar (Jipapad, Arteche, Oras, San Policarpo, Maslog, Dolores, Can-Avid, Taft)
Meanwhile, tropical cyclone warning signal no .1 remains raised over these areas:
- Masbate including Ticao and Burias Islands,
- Camarines Norte,
- the rest of Camarines Sur,
- Romblon,
- Marinduque,
- Quezon including Pollilo Islands,
- Laguna,
- Rizal
- Samar,
- the rest of Eastern Samar,
- Biliran,
- Leyte,
- Southern Leyte,
- the northern portion of Cebu (Daanbantayan, Medellin, San Remigio, Tabogon, City of Bogo, Borbon) including Bantayan and Camotes Islands
- Dinagat Islands,
- Surigao del Norte including Siargao and Bucas Grande Islands, and
- the northern portion of Surigao del Sur (Carrascal, Cantilan, Madrid, Carmen, Lanuza, Cortes, City of Tandag, Bayabas, Tago, Cagwait)
PAGASA expects that TS Paeng will make landfall or pass very close to Catanduanes on Saturday.
The weather monitoring agency also reported that TS Paeng could make landfall either in Aurora, the east coast of Quezon (including Polillo Islands), or in the eastern portion of Bicol Region.
PAGASA predicts that TS Paeng could intensify into a typhoon.
