Tropical Storm Surigae entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 7 a.m. Thursday, September 24, and was assigned the local name Queenie, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

“At 7:00 AM today (24 September 2026), Tropical Storm Surigae has entered the PAR and was assigned the domestic name Queenie,” PAGASA said.

Earlier, PAGASA said Surigae was packing maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center, with gustiness of up to 90 kph.

PAGASA said it will issue its first Tropical Cyclone Bulletin for Queenie at 11 a.m. Thursday.
