Tropical Storm Hagupit has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 6:00 PM on Saturday, May 9, 2026, according to PAGASA.

Following its entry into PAR, the tropical cyclone was given the local name Caloy.

“At 6:00 PM today, Tropical Storm [HAGUPIT] has entered the PAR,” PAGASA said in a advisory.

Caloy is the third tropical cyclone to enter the country this year, after Basyang in February.

The system is now being closely monitored by DOST-PAGASA for any changes in intensity and movement that may affect different parts of the country.

The first Tropical Cyclone Bulletin is scheduled to be issued at 11:00 PM tonight.

In PAGASA’s 11:00 AM advisory, the storm has maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 80 km/h.
