Tropical Depression “Nuri” outside PAR intensifies into tropical storm

The tropical depression being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has intensified into a tropical storm, according to PAGASA on Wednesday morning, March 11.
As of 2 AM, the tropical storm, with the international name “Nuri,” was located about 1,200 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas, packing maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h and gusts of up to 80 km/h.
It is moving slowly west-southwestward.
Once the weather disturbance enters the PAR, it will be given the local name “Caloy.”
