Organizers of the “Trillion Peso March 3” declared that President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. should be the last Marcos to serve in Malacañang, as they renewed calls to dismantle political dynasties during the 40th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution on Wednesday, February 25.

The group also asserted that Vice President Sara Duterte should not ascend to the presidency, arguing that entrenched political families undermine democratic institutions. Protest leaders said the rally was meant to challenge what they described as the continued dominance of powerful clans in national politics, particularly the Marcos and Duterte families.

In his address, Kiko Aquino Dee, grandson of former President Corazon "Cory" Aquino and slain opposition leader Benigno Aquino Jr., emphasized the enduring relevance of EDSA’s democratic ideals. He said the march was not just a protest but a commitment to reject corruption, political dynasties, and alleged abuses under the current administration.

The rally was held along EDSA in White Plains, Quezon City, where crowds continued to build even before the main program began despite the heat. The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) initially estimated more than 2,000 attendees on site, with turnout expected to swell to between 20,000 and 30,000 participants.

Organizers framed the event as both a commemoration of the 1986 uprising that restored democracy and a renewed call for institutional reforms aimed at curbing corruption and limiting the influence of political dynasties in the government.
