Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV filed a plunder complaint before the Office of the Ombudsman on Tuesday morning against former President Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Christopher “Bong” Go over what he described as anomalous infrastructure projects worth nearly ₱7 billion.
According to RH Val Gonzales, in a 24-page complaint affidavit, Trillanes accused Duterte and Go of allegedly abusing their positions in government to benefit construction firms linked to the senator’s family.
The former lawmaker further revealed that the projects—amounting to around ₱6.95 billion—were awarded between 2016 and the present to CLTG Builders and Alfrego Builders, companies reportedly owned by Go’s father and brother.
Trillanes also claimed that these firms entered into joint ventures with St. Gerrard Construction, owned by the Discaya family, which is currently under investigation for questionable flood control projects.
The former senator said the acts of Duterte and Go constitute violations of the Plunder Law, the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, and the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.
As of press time, neither Duterte nor Go has issued a statement regarding the allegations.
