A tower of a large solar farm collapsed in Barangay Castellano, San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija, on Sunday evening, November 9, following the onslaught of Super Typhoon Uwan.
The fallen tower, owned by Terra Solar Philippines Inc., caused power cables to fall across a portion of the Maharlika Highway, temporarily obstructing traffic in the area.
In a Facebook post, San Leonardo Mayor Niña Nagaño Joson confirmed that the affected road has since been cleared and is now passable.
The mayor also reported that no casualties were recorded in the incident.
Meanwhile, Joson reminded the public not to tamper with or steal parts of infrastructure, emphasizing that such acts are against the law and are punishable by imprisonment.
