Former Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Nicolas Torre III has been reassigned as the new General Manager of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), announced the Palace on Friday.

In a report by RH 14 Leth Narciso, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro confirmed that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has assigned Torre as Procopio Lipana’s replacement.

The MMDA welcomed Torre’s designation, confident that his experience would affirm the agency’s mandate.

“The MMDA expresses its full support to the decision of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in his trust for Gen. Torre, whose extensive experience in public service and law enforcement is expected to further strengthen the MMDA’s mandate in traffic management and public safety, among others, across Metro Manila,” the MMDA said in a statement.

“Gen. Torre is a welcome addition to the MMDA family. I am sure he will be a big help to the agency,” said Chairman Atty. Don Artes.

The MMDA also expressed appreciation for its former General Manager Lipana for his three-year service.
