

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Police General Nicolas Torre III called for a command conference at 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, to finalize security preparations for the 4th State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on July 28.
The early morning meeting was attended by key PNP officials including members of the Command Group, the Regional and District Directors of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), as well as directors for Operations, Intelligence, Investigation and Detection Management, and Police Community Relations, held at the PNP Main Conference Room in Camp Crame,
According to Torre, the PNP's early start is a form of sacrifice and commitment to ensure public safety during this year's SONA.
“He also underscored the importance of unity, vigilance, and proactive leadership in ensuring a peaceful and orderly conduct of the President’s annual address,” said PNP in a Facebook post.
Torre earlier assured the public of the appropriate deployment of police personnel, with heightened visibility in critical areas surrounding the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City.
In a separate briefing on May 1, 2025, House of Representatives Sergeant-at-Arms Retired PMaj. Gen. Napoleon Taas confirmed that approximately 27,000 personnel from various security and emergency response agencies will be deployed to secure the complex and surrounding areas on SONA day.
The PNP reaffirmed its readiness to fulfill its mandate of safeguarding the public and maintaining order during the SONA 2025.
