The Department of Education, led by Secretary Sonny Angara, recognized the Robotics Catalyst Team of Top Link Global College following their recent victory at the World Robotics Olympiad Asia Pacific Open Championship 2025 held in Pasay City last September.

The courtesy call highlighted the students’ achievement as 1st Place Champion – Future Innovators (Senior High School Category) and Best Team Award for collaboration, team spirit, and support for others.

During the visit, the team presented their winning entry, Project FRANCIS, short for Futuristic Robot for Assisting Navigation, Care, Interaction, and Support.

The intelligent, solar-powered robot is designed to assist and protect families at home. It can detect smoke, temperature changes, and water levels during floods, and automatically send alerts and information to family members and local authorities programmed into its system.

Beyond safety, it can also remind users about daily tasks and medication schedules and even charge mobile phones, offering both care and functionality in one unit.

Inspired by Pope Francis, the project embodies values of compassion, protection, and service—principles that align with the WRO’s vision of innovation driven by empathy and collaboration.

Secretary Angara commended the students’ success, emphasizing that their accomplishment underscores the importance of strengthening STEM education across the country.

Top Link Global College expressed gratitude to the mentors, parents, and administrators who supported the Robotics Catalyst Team, saying the victory reflects the school’s commitment to nurturing perseverance, creativity, and excellence among Filipino youth.
